Is MRI scanning safe?

This makes it one of the safest imaging technologies available for preventive screening. It is generally suitable for most adults. Your Aira coordinator will go through a safety checklist with you before your scan.

How long does a full-body MRI scan take?

Scan duration varies by programme. An Essential scan typically takes 45 to 60 minutes, while a Comprehensive or Executive programme may take 90 to 120 minutes. You will be told the estimated duration when you book. Most people find the time passes easily enough lying inside the scanner.

Will I feel anything during the scan?

MRI scanning is non-invasive and painless. You will hear intermittent loud knocking or humming noises from the scanner; earplugs or headphones are provided. Some people experience mild claustrophobia. Let us know in advance and we will do our best to arrange an open-bore or wide-bore scanner for you.

Is any preparation required before my scan?

For most scans, you will be asked to avoid eating or drinking for 4 to 6 hours beforehand. Leave metal objects at home and let us know about any implants, pacemakers, or surgical devices. Your Aira coordinator will send a detailed preparation guide after booking.

Can anyone have an MRI scan?

Accepted Answer

MRI is safe for the vast majority of people. It may not be suitable if you have a cardiac pacemaker, cochlear implant, certain metallic implants, or if you are in the first trimester of pregnancy. Our pre-screening questionnaire covers all of these. If in doubt, consult your physician first.

Does Aira own its own scanning equipment?

No. Aira operates on an asset-light model, similar to platforms like Ezra internationally. We partner exclusively with NABH-accredited imaging centres that meet our quality criteria. That means you get established, certified clinical environments, while we focus on the booking experience, reporting, and follow-up.

What does NABH accreditation mean for me?

NABH is India's leading hospital accreditation body. NABH-accredited centres meet rigorous standards for patient safety, equipment quality, and clinical practice. Every Aira partner imaging centre holds current NABH accreditation. We do not list centres that do not.

How do I book a scan?

You can book through our website contact form, via WhatsApp, or by calling our team. We will confirm your preferred city, match you with an available partner centre, and send you a confirmation with all pre-scan instructions.

Which cities is Aira available in?

Aira currently operates in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, with more cities being added. If your city is not listed yet, get in touch and we will notify you when we launch there.

Can I choose which imaging centre I go to?

Yes. Where multiple partner centres are available in your city, we will provide options and you can express a preference. We will accommodate your choice where we can, subject to availability.

What does my Aira report include?

Accepted Answer

You receive two documents: the full radiologist report (technical, medical-grade) and an Aira summary. The summary is a plain-English interpretation of the key findings, written by our clinical team, that tells you what was seen, what it may mean, and what to discuss with your doctor. Reports are delivered digitally within 48 hours of your scan.

Who reviews my scan?

Every scan is reviewed by a qualified radiologist at your partner imaging centre. For Comprehensive and Executive programmes, we apply an additional quality review before releasing your report.

Does Aira provide a diagnosis?

No. Aira provides a wellness screening report and a plain-English summary. We do not diagnose conditions. Any findings should be discussed with your own physician or specialist, who can advise on next steps in the context of your full medical history.

How does Aira's corporate programme work?

Aira can screen your entire team, from a few dozen to several hundred employees. We work with your HR team to schedule scan batches across our partner cities, provide an HR portal for booking management, and deliver individual confidential reports directly to each employee.

How does Aira handle my health data?

Your health data is treated with the highest level of confidentiality. Aira processes personal and health data in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We do not sell your data to third parties. Your scan data is stored securely and shared only with the imaging centre conducting your scan and, where you request it, your designated physician.

Can my employer see my scan results?

No. Individual scan reports are confidential and delivered only to the employee. In corporate programmes, Aira provides only aggregate, anonymised wellness statistics to employers. Individual results are never shared.

How long does Aira retain my data?
